First Win Pro
From the published conclusion to the research implications.
Every First Win study is published in full and free to read: the finding, the evidence, the methodology and the limitations. Pro is for people who then need to act on it as researchers, and want to know what it rules out, where it breaks down, and what to investigate next.
Who it is for
- Model builders who need a calibrated benchmark and a concrete bar to clear before an edge is worth believing.
- Serious market participants who want to know which intuitive strategies are already ruled out before spending time on them.
- Analysts and researchers who want the underlying tables and the reproducibility trail, not just the write-up.
How the research reaches you
- Pro Brief
- A short, interpretation-first read on each major study. What matters, what the result rules out, where the interesting uncertainty sits, what we would investigate next, and how the result can legitimately be used. Claims are marked as supported or as open questions, and the two are never blurred.
- Technical Research Pack
- The evidence layer beneath the Brief. Complete supporting tables with every column, robustness and sensitivity work, season and cohort breakdowns, reproducibility metadata, and an explicit account of what the study does not establish. You start with the Brief; the Pack is there when you want to check it.
- Derived data
- The tables behind the study as CSV, where the underlying licence permits redistribution, so you can take the work further yourself.
- Pro Notes
- Smaller quantitative investigations into focused questions that do not warrant a full public study, written in the same interpretation-first style. Produced when there is something worth answering, not to fill a schedule.
- Research queue
- Periodically we put a short list of candidate questions to members and ask which to investigate. Input into the agenda, not bespoke research on request, and never a request line for selections.
- Early access
- Completed studies reach members before they are published publicly.
What Publication 001 looks like in Pro
The public study The MLB moneyline is almost perfectly calibrated. Every bucket still lost money. is free and complete. Pro members additionally receive:
- A Pro Brief covering what the result establishes as a benchmark, which research directions it closes off, where the measured cost of trading varies, and the open questions it opens up.
- The Technical Research Pack, an eleven-page document with the complete probability-band and price-bucket tables, both season breakdowns, and the decomposition behind the interval methodology.
- Five derived tables as CSV, covering bands, buckets, both season breakdowns and the interval decomposition.
None of that changes the public finding, and none of it is missing from the public article. The article tells you what we found and why it holds. Pro tells you what to do with it as a researcher.
Free and Pro

First Win Pro
Go beyond the published finding
The public research gives you the finding and the evidence for it. Pro takes you from the published conclusion to the practical research implications: what it rules out, where it breaks down, and what is worth investigating next.
Pro does not exist because we hide the answer from free readers. Every public study is complete on its own, conclusion and evidence included. Pro is additive.
What members get today
- Pro Briefs
- A short, interpretation-first read on each major study: what matters, what the result rules out, where it gets interesting, and what we would investigate next.
- Technical Research Packs
- The evidence layer beneath each Brief: every supporting table, the robustness and sensitivity work, and the cuts too detailed for a public article.
- Pro-only research notes
- Focused quantitative investigations into questions that do not warrant a full publication but are still worth answering properly.
- Extended analysis and robustness work
- Where a result holds, where it weakens, and what happens to it under a different estimator or a different cut of the same data.
- Downloadable research assets
- Derived tables from the sealed research packages, where the underlying licence permits redistribution.
- Early access
- Completed studies reach members before they are published publicly.
- Research queue input
- A say in which questions get investigated next. Research topics, not requests for selections.
What we are building
The current membership is a research membership. The full First Win Pro research terminal is still being built, and founding membership is a claim on it rather than access to something that exists today.
- A professional research terminal, with richer historical analysis than the public Explorer
- Comparison workflows across cohorts, seasons and markets
- Saved research, saved screens and saved queries
- Advanced statistical views over the same canonical research layer
- Additional markets and sports as the corpus expands
- Alerts and watchlists, where they can be built without becoming a tipping service
Founding membership opens shortly and is not yet on sale, so there is nothing to buy today. The newsletter above will carry the announcement. No picks, no tips, and no claim that any of this will make you money betting.
Get new sports-market research when we publish
Occasional email, only when a new research note goes out. No picks, no promotions. Everything on this site stays free to read without an account.
